St. Louis Man wins right to object to Eminent Domain abuses.

In a joint victory in favor of free speech AND against eminent domain abuses, a the U.S. 8th Circuit Court of Appeals has back a St. Louis man’s right to maintain a sign that objects to eminent domain abuses. Located in St. Louis on the side of a building, the giant sign contains the familiar red circle with a line through it to express his dislike of eminent domain powers. It is located at the intersection of two of St. Louis’ busiest interstates.

The court of appeals reversed a district court that ruled in favor of the City of St. Louis, that wanted the mural removed as a violation of its sign ordinance. The Court of Appeals ruled that the sign ordinance was unconstitutional.
