Owners’ Counsel of America Announces Election of New Board Members

The Owners’ Counsel of America, a nationwide network of eminent domain attorneys dedicated to representing property owners, have elected two new members to their Board of Directors.

OCA North Carolina member, George B. Autry, Jr., a partner based in the Raleigh office of Cranfill, Sumner & Hartzog, LLP, and Michigan member, Darius W. Dynkowski, a partner with Michigan-based Ackerman, Ackerman & Dynkowski, P.C., will serve three-year terms ending January 2017.

“It is an honor to welcome George and Darius to the Board of Directors,” said Andrew Brigham, Owners’ Counsel Florida representative and member of the Board of Directors. “Their experience and results representing property owners in eminent domain and property rights matters is outstanding.”

A graduate of UNC School of Law, George B. Autry, Jr. has practiced litigation in Raleigh since 1991. For the last fourteen years he has focused exclusively on representing private owners in eminent domain proceedings across North Carolina. Mr. Autry has tried condemnation jury trials in every corner of the state and has secured several multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements for North Carolina landowners.

In recognition of his professional achievements in the field of eminent domain and condemnation law, Mr. Autry has been listed by The Best Lawyers in America® and Super Lawyers. He was appointed Chairman of the Land Condemnation Specialty Committee by the North Carolina State Bar and has served on the North Carolina Mining Commission. A seasoned lecturer, Mr. Autry has been invited to present both nationally and locally on eminent domain and property valuation law.

Darius W. Dynkowski, Chair of the American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Land Use and Environmental Group, has avidly defended landowners throughout the country since 1996. His experience includes eminent domain, inverse condemnation and property rights litigation in both state and federal courts, where he has obtained several awards exceeding the original offer by at least $1 million.

A frequent lecturer and author, Mr. Dynkowski speaks on topics relating to condemnation and property valuation and his articles have appeared in scholarly and trade publications. He has been recognized by Chambers USA and Super Lawyers for his accomplishments in the field of eminent domain law. In addition to his professional practice, he has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Detroit Law School since 2002 and Michigan State University College of Law since 2009.

“OCA’s Board of Directors includes accomplished attorneys from across the country and is representative of the truly extraordinary talent and experience found among Owners’ Counsel members,” remarked Cathy Newman, OCA Executive Director. “I look forward to working with George, Darius and the entire Board to advance the organization’s goals assisting landowners nationwide.”

“I also wish to thank Robert Denlow of St. Louis, Missouri and John Hamilton of Topeka, Kansas who have just concluded their terms of service on the Board. Bob and John have demonstrated amazing dedication and commitment to the organization and to private property rights.”
