Sometimes the condemnation case may settle prior to trial. Often there are settlement conferences with the judge where he or she attempts to narrow the differences between the parties. Other times, the attorneys themselves attempt to settle the case. Any settlement requires the consent of the client. The likelihood of settlement varies with each case, depending upon the amount of money involved and how much agreement or disagreement the parties have on the various issues.
